Arthur F. Carey, 65, of 1251 Mt. Hope Ave., died Monday, 5:35 a.m., at Pottsville Hospital, where he had been admitted as a medical patient April 15. He previously was a patient in the Veterans Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
A native of Pottsville, Mr. Carey was a son of the late Ezra and Nellie Warne Carey. He was a painter. Mr. Carey was a World War 1, member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Disabled Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Kallenbach; sons, Arthur C., at home; Paul, of Chicago, Ill.; Eugene, Boonton, N.J.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene, Harbor Island, N.C.; Charles W., Pottsville; sisters, Mrs. Marion Breininger, of Pottsville; Frances, wife of Warren Schaeffer, Reading.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from Ruch Funeral Chapel. The service will not be held until 3 p.m., due to clergyman being out of town. Rev. E.W.Weber, D.D., pastor emeritus of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment in Mt. Laurel Cemetery.
