William Heber Jarvis Jr., 76, Provo, died Thursday, November 1985, at his home.

He was born December 16, 1908, at Colonia Morelos, Sonora, Mexico, to William Heber Sr. and Ruth Wilson Jarvis. He married Viola Stock March 27, 1940, in the Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was educated in Mexico. Following his marriage, he and his wife made their home in Mexico for 10 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and served in the European Theater. He moved his family to Provo in 1951 and lived there since.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, living in the Pleasant View 6th Ward. He was a High Priest.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife of Provo; three sons and five daughters: Frank H Jarvis, Walla Walla, Washington; Samuel M. Jarvis and Joseph N. Jarvis, both of Provo; Mrs Carl (Vila) Wakkure, Salem, Oregon; Mrs Wilma "Willie" Shumway, Lehi; Mrs. Carol Redmon, Burns, Oregon; Mrs. Romano (Edna) Rinaldi, Alhambra, California; Mrs. Edwin ((Esther) Jackson, Mapleton; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and six brothers and three sisters: David Jarvis, Playas, New Mexico, Ray Jarvis and Ruth Chase, both of Monticello; Daniel Jarvis, Mayer, Arizona; Alma Jarvis, El Paso, Texas; Ervin Jarvis, Seattle, Washington; Ike Jarvis, Mannford, Oklahoma, Mrs. Steve (Mary) Wilcken, Seattle, Washington, and Mrs Mel (Amy) Cloward, Mapleton.

He was preceded in death by two sons: Alvin and Benjamin.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Pleasant View 6th Ward, 2445 N. 650 E., Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center St., 6-8 p.m. Sunday and at the church one hour before services Monday.

Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery with military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars District 4 and the DAV.
