The obituary from a Mexico City Newspaper says the funeral of Fred Durkee was attended at the hotel where he boarded in the city of Mexico. About 50 Americans attended the funeral. He was buried in the American Cemetery there and was a former brakeman on the Central Vermont, but who was recently employed as conductor on the Mexican Central. His headstone is in the South Royalton Village Cemetery next to his father and step-mother.
