Mrs. Emma David
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma David of Shieldsville township, were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, from the Church of St. Canice in Kilkenny. The Rev. Francis Eret offered the Mass and interment was made in the Trebon Catholic cemetary. Active pallbearers were Jerry Drevlow, Walter David, Glen David, Kenneth Schleis, Irvin Bilek and Bonafice David; honorary pallbearers were Ben David jr., Donald and Arnold David, Ronald and John Schleis, Richard David, Robert Schleis, Robert Schleis, Jacob David and Emil Bilek, all grandsons of the deceased.
Emma Adamek, daughter of the late Marie Bartusek Adamek was born on August 15, 1885 in Shieldsville township. She attended rural school in Shieldsville township, where she grew to womanhood. On October 31, 1091 she was united in marriage to: Matt M. David in Minneapolis. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm in Shieldsville township where she lived up to the time of her death.
Mrs. David suffered with a heart condition for the past eight years and passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, April 1, at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mayme) Bilek of St. Paul; Mrs. Arnold (Emily) Schleis of Montgomery, Mrs. Kurt (Helen) Drevlow of Faribault, four sons, James C., Michael P., and John G. of Kilkenny and Benjamin David of Hopkins; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Albina) Budin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who dies on February 16,1959; 3 sons, Rudolph in WWII, Matthew, age 3, and one son in infancy; 3 half-sisters, Mrs. Albert (Christina) Edel, Mrs. Rose Bartholomew and Mrs. Mike (Catherine) Srnex; one half-Brother, Jacob David and 5 great-grandchildren.
