Harry F. Hacker, 74, of 141 E. Chestnut St., died Sunday at 3 a.m. at Lebanon Veterans Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was a lifelong resident of Lancaster. He was retired in 1967 from Lancaster City Refuse Authority, where he worked for four years. Prior to that he was employed by Yellow Cab Company for 20 years. In his early years, he was in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 24 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 34 and Lebanon Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was the son of the late Maurice and Margaret Murry Hacker and the husband of Mary Schermick Hacker. In addition to this widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ressler, Lititz; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Florence Colson, Lancaster; Margaret, wife of Thomas Matroni, Neffsville, and John Hacker, Lancaster.
