Margaret L. Matroni, 80, of 2622 Sutton Place, Neffsville, died unexpectedly at 11:45 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster General Hospital where she had been taken after being stricken ill at home. She and her husband, Leonard T. Matroni, would have observed their 55th wedding anniversary on June 28. Mrs. Matroni was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Navy Mothers Club. She was a member of the following auxiliaries: Neffsville Fire Co., Eagles Aerie 84, and American Legion Post 34. She was the oldest living member of Red Rose City Chapter, Sweet Adelines Inc., and was honored by the group in 1974. She served as president of the chapter and also on the board of directors. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Margaret Wilhelmina Murray Hacker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Leonard L., at home; Harold E., Lancater; Thomas J., East Petersburg; and Margaret E., at home; six grandchildren; and one brother, John E.
