The Treutlen County native was an employee of Oxford Manufacturing Co. Vidalia and the son of the late Walton and Annie Coleman Williamson. He had lived in Toombs County for the past 35 years and was a member of the Mt. Shady Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services for Mr. Williamson were held at the Mt. Shady Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 4, 1983 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur Conley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were J.W. Williamson, Ronnie Williamson, Chess Fountain, Roy Williamson, Danny Williamson, A.C. Edenfield. Honorary pallbearers were Estol Williamson, Bernard Hall, Dempsey Coe, Wayne Horton, Vernon Sumner and Emmett Bridges. Murchison Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Besides his wife Mrs. Flossie Bunch Williamson of Vidalia, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gale Collins, Atlanta and Mrs. Vicki Johnson, Lake City, Fla.; one son, Jerry Williamson, Vidalia; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Pruitt, Vidalia and Mrs. Vinie Keeling, California; four brothers, Sol Williamson, Ben Williamson, of Vidalia, Buford Williamson, Hoboken, N.J. and Clifford Williamson, Macon; several nieces and nephews.
