Debra L. Hutson, 57

She was born Jan. 16, 1951, in Lafayette, and was the daughter of Leone Seifert Hutson of Charlevoix* and the late Ross Hutson.

She grew up in Brookston and graduated from Frontier High School in 1969 and Purdue University in 1973, with a bachelor of arts degree in education.

In 1974, she moved to Charlevoix and worked at Courter's Manufacturing in Boyne City. She lived in Michigan until 1994, when she moved to Indio, Calif., where she co-owned a dry cleaning establishment.

She returned to the Charlevoix area in 2001 and spent the remainder of her life providing in-home care for the infirm, the terminally ill and those suffering from Alzheimer's.

Surviving with her mother are two brothers, Alan Hutson of Lafayette and Larry Hutson of Carmel.

There will be no visitation or funeral services, as the family intends to conduct a private memorial at her home in July. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay or the Charlevoix Senior Citizens' Center. Arrangements are being handled by Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix (231) 547-2881.
