Funeral services for Robert H. Abernathy, age 59, who was killed Friday evening accidentally on N. Tennessee Street, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the new Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church on the Canton Road with Elder Willie Howell and Elder Bartow Abernathy officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Odie Abernathy, Melvin Abernathy, Dewitt Abernathy, Hugh Sanford, John Waits and Robert Mitchell.
Interment was in the old Macedonia Cemetery with Owen Funeral Home in charge.
The deceased is survived by his wife and eight stepchildren; Mrs. Louise Abernathy, Mrs. Christine Hartsfield, Cartersville; Mrs. Bessie Baker, Beaumont, Texas; Frank Cox, Clay Cox, Herbert Cox, Charles Cox and Ernest Cox, Cartersville.
