Abernathy Rites Friday

Funeral services for Bartow Abernathy, 70, of Woodstock, were conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the New Macedonia Baptist Church.

Elders Willie Howell and Earl Myers officiated.

Mr. Abernathy was a retired farmer and an elder in the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lee E. Deal, Mrs. John M. Bennett of Woodstock, Mrs. Mattie Huey, of Acworth; one son, the Rev Hansel Abernathy, Cartersville; five sisters, Mrs. Nancy Hite and Mrs. Bertha Osberne of Austell; Mrs. Minnie Bivins and Mrs. Nellie Summey of Cartersville; Mrs. Etta Jones of Acworth; and one brother, Andrew Abernathy of Woodstock; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
