Frances Park Anderson Sparks, 88, Galesburg, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born July 7, 1912, in Henderson Grove, the daughter of George Harry and Lillie Peterson Park. She married Gordon Anderson on April 30, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He passed away April 29, 1971. She married Kenneth V. Sparks on July 25, 1985, in Galesburg. Surviving are her husband; one son, Robert Anderson, Galesburg; three stepsons, Robert Sparks, Mesa, Ariz., Phillip Sparks, Galesburg, and Dean Sparks, Abilene, Kan.; one daughter, Jean Grupe, Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Teresa O'Reilly, Valrico, Fla.; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Park, Galesburg; two sisters, Gertrude Dickerson, Abingdon, and Gladyce DuBois, Hesperia, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1930, and from Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She was a registered nurse at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, retiring in September 1972. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, WELCA and its circles. She was a member of Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, and a former member of the PTA. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Larsen officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
