Agnes married Thomas Linson in Altus OK when she was 15 years old;d they were married for 63 years. Tom passed away in 1988. He was the love of her life. They lived in a dugout on the riverbank near present-day Borger TX while Tom was employed as a foreman for Whittenburg Ranch. Then they moved to Seminole OK, and Tom worked for Phillip Petrol. They built their first home, consisting of one room, in one day. Tom's work brought them to Oklahoma City OK in the early 1930's. Agnes played on the Women's Championship Softball Team in Oklahoma City, and she opened a beauty shop in their home. She worked at Douglas Aircraft during WWII. The women working there were known as Rosie the Riveters. The family moved to Crescent OK in 1945, where they were very involved in the community. They transferred their church membership to the First Baptist Church. Agnes was very active in the church until her health started to decline. She taught Sunday School for years and was able to lead several young people to accept Christ. Agnes was involved in fund raising for the community center, was a member of the Quilters Club, and was past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She sold real estate in Crescent for a number of years. Agnes will be remembered most for the fact that she always had time to listen to others. She prayed daily for her family, friends, community, and country. Her passion was gardening and raising roses.
