Graveside services for Douglas E. Linson will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent with Pastor Mark LeMarr officiating along with the American Legion Post #200 of Crescent.

Douglas passed away May 6, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Douglas was born in St. Louis, Oklahoma on February 12, 1929 to Thomas C. and Agnes (Wright) Linson. Douglas left school and joined the Army in 1946. He served in the occupation of Japan after WWII and the Korean War. Douglas received the Victory medal and the occupation of Japan medal. He was a member of the American Legion. Douglas returned to Crescent and graduated from Crescent High School in 1949. He worked as a survey engineer on missile sites in Colorado but made his living primarily in insurance sales.

Douglas will be remembered by family and friends as always having a smile and going the extra mile to bring a smile to those around him. Before his health failed him, Doug frequently visited local hospitals, nursing homes, and restaurants where he gave patients, nurses, waitresses and patrons roses. He knew that it was the small things in life that truly matter.

Survivors include his brother, Jerry Linson and wife Carolyn of Crescent; son, Jay Peavler and wife Karen of Bakersfield, CA; daughter, Nancy Tapsfield and husband Marvin of Seward, AR. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and by very dear friends John Chambers of Guthrie, Paul Watkins of Tulsa, and Kathy Culver of Tulsa. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 23 years, Marilyn Alderman Linson, and a sister, Claudia Linson.
