Funeral services were held March 7, 1986 at 2:00 pm at Piney Woods Primitive Baptist Church in Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia with the Rev. Milton Whitlock and Rev. Lawrence Shedd officiating. Interment was in Piney Woods Cemetery. Hillcrest Funeral Home – Newnan was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis was born in Draketown, Georgia. He was the son of the late James Grant and Lila Frances Ford Eaves.
