Little Elvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Samuelson, died a week ago last Sunday aged seventeen months.
It was a bright winter day,
The ground was mantled with white
When this loved one was laid
away,
Far beneath our earthly sight.
But his spirit has passed the gates
of peace.
His voice joining the heavenly
choir,
Where bright seraph wings unfurl.
He had answered the call, "come
higher,"
The dear one's pilgrimage is ended;
His earthly life is o'er.
His spirit with loved ones is blended
On the bright eternal shore.
Yet how consoling to the sad
heart,
Where in a few short years,
We all shall meet never to part,
Beyond this vale of tears.
