Hester was the oldest child of Jacob and Elizabeth (Wogoman) Early. She married George Mahugh on 26 Dec 1877 in Huntington, Indiana. The family lived in Franklin Twp, MO; Foxholm, ND; and Berthold, ND. Hester and George had 8 children Glenn, Orval, Edith, Minnie, Mattie, Jesse, Altha, and Noah. Noah drowned at age 17. Daughter Altha cared for Hester after George died. When Altha died, Hester lived in the Good Samaritan Home in Minot. She was nearly 100 when she died in 1955.
