Afton Arehart, 66, of Idaho Falls, died April 1, 2003, at the Golden Pines care center in Rigby.

She was born August 25, 1936, in Grant, Idaho, to Abram Wayne Wilson and Vendetta Cook Wilson. She attended schools in Roberts and Rigby.

On May 28, 1953, she married Jim F. Arehart in Butte, Montana. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May. She worked for Albertson, Inc., for 30 years as a front-end clerk trainer.

Her family saw her as a loving mother and wife who enjoyed camping, hunting, horse racing, family activities, and following her children and grandchildren in sports activities; and they express thanks to Hospice and Golden Pines shelter home for their kind and loving care.

Survivors include her husband, Jim F. Arehart of Idaho Falls; one daughter, Roxie (Gordon L.) Steele of Idaho Falls; three sons, Tony (Kim) Arehart of Idaho Falls, Todd Arehart of Houston, Texas, and Tim (Karlene) Arehart of Idaho Falls; three sisters, LaRae Peterson of Arco, Idaho, and Ina (Jack) Hunter, and Cheryl (John) Bennett, both of Boise; sister-in-law, JoEtta (the late Glendon) Wilson of Boise; six brothers, Lonnie Wilson of Rigby, Ronald (Colene) Wilson and Monte (Lynda) Wilson, both of Rexburg, Reed (Wanna) Wilson of Denver, Colo., Val (Ellen) Wilson of Irving, Texas, and Steve (Diane) Wilson of Rigby; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glendon Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
