Martha Erskine-Sopfe and Rosa D Knight married a Sherwood. They were half sisters according to one of Rosa's great grandchildren. Rosa raised Connie Lee Crosby-Bugg and her sibling Roger Crosby. Benjamin Crosby raised Robert Crosby, the other sibling. No one knows why the siblings were separated, but the grandparents went to court and took the children away from their father, my grandfather, Carl Clayton Crosby, when he was widowed. When he remarried, all three children went back to live with him. Rosa lived at 517 1/2 and the family lived in the basement while they rented the top half of the house out, as they didn't have much money. A small house was built in the back by my grandfather and John Sherwood and Carl, and Carl and Beulah lived in it. Rosa and John had chickens and some other animals.

Death certificate for Rosa D. Knight who married John Sherwood. Rosa's parents were Alvin Knight and Elizabeth Broughton. Rosa and John raised my mother, their granddaughter until Rosa died. My mother's mother was Beulah Sherwood. Beulah was the daughter of Rosa and John.
