Parents were William K. and Alsey Breeding Colley.

Iola, Kansas Register, Nov. 25, 1915: 'The body of the late J. S. Colley was taken to Miller, Mo., yesterday for burial accompanied by Mr. And Mrs. I. O. Barnard, of Humboldt, Mrs. E. C. Decker of Pleasant Hill, Mo. and Mrs. S. C. Bibler, of Stanhope, Ia. Walter Percy, son of the deceased was at Miller to receive the remains. Another son, R. H. Colley, formerly of Mildred, but now living at Haines, Oregon, was unable to reach Missouri in time for the services there.

Mr. Colley is surviced by his wife and five children, three daughters, (Mrs.) I. O. Barnard, of Humboldt, Mrs. E. C. Decker, of Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Mrs. S. C. Bibler, of Iowa: two sons, R. H. Colley of Haines, Ore., and Walter Colley, or Miller, Mo.

Mr. Colley had been in ill health for five years but his condition was not thought to be serious until a fatal stroke came suddenly upon him He was a man of many sterling qualities essentially a lover of home and home life. In Christian service he served with the membership of the First Baptist church and found his greatest comfort in the Bible. His life was an inspiration to his family and friends.

Mr. Colley was 77 years old and had lived here fifteen years. He was born in Virginia. A brief funeral service was held at the home here Sunday afternoon before the

body was taken to the train here.

About three months ago Mr. Colley was married to Mrs. L. Sutton, of LaHarpe. For the present she will reside at the home, 1016 North Cottonwood street.'
