GLENNVILLE - Dorthy Durrence Anderson, 85, died Oct. 15 at Glenvue Nursing Home.
The Tattnall County native lived in the Mendes community most of her life. She owned and operated Anderson's Store in Mendes the past 43 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Truman and Gaynell Anderson of Glennville; a brother, Melton Durrence of Glennville; four sisters, Boniar Kennedy of Collins, Evelyn Jarriel of Atlanta, Winnette Dreher and Mary Ann Gardiner both of Columbia; a friend, Ruby Jean Purcell of Glennville; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 6 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harmony United Methodist Church, burial in the church cemetery.
REMEMBRANCES: Harmony United Methodist Church Building Fund.
