INDEPENDENCE - WILLIAM SEVERNS was born May 9th., 1809, near Natural Bridge, Rockingham County, Virginia; came with his father to Ohio in 1817 and settled near Danville, Knox County; next fall moved to Brown T.P., Knox County and settled in what is know known as the Severn's Settlement, 2½ miles west of Brownsville; came to Independence, Ohio, February, 1856, where he resided to the time of his death.
Died September 23, 1884, aged 75 years, 4 months and 15 days. Funeral services by Rev. W.A. Shisler.
