Funeral services for Mary W. Jones, 83, were held Monday at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Robert Swinea officiating. Interment was in the Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie, also on Monday.
Mrs. Jones died Oct. 21 at Michael Manor in Douglas following a long illness.
She was born Jan. 24, 1904 at Fernbank, Ohio the daughter of John and Isabelle (Hamblin) Ward. Mrs. Jones was reared and educated in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
She came to Ethete to work at the mission school in the mid 1920s. Mrs. Jones was married to Owen A. Richard on April 10, 1928 in Lander. They lived in various communities in western Wyoming. She was then married to Harry C. Jones in September, 1961 at Ogden, Utah.
Mrs. Jones has lived in Douglas since 1962. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and was very active with the Wyoming State Fair.
Mrs. Jones has been a resident of Michael Manor since 1977.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Rickard of Henderson, Nev. and Ward Rickard of Parker, Colo.; one daughter Margaret Beckstead of Clovis, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one brother; one sister; and one granddaughter.
A memorial to the Christ Episcopal Church would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
