OBITUARY: Torrington News, Torrington, WY on 16 Dec 1954:
"Chester A. GAMBLE - Funeral Service -- Being Held Friday
Chester A. GAMBLE, wellknown farmer of north of Torrington, passed away at his home at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15. He had been ill since last June.
Mr. GAMBLE had resided in this county for the past 26 years and operated a farm three miles northwest of here. He was aged 74 years, 8 months and 12 days.
He was born at Coin, Ia., on April 3, 1880, a son of James and Elizabeth McCullough GAMBLE. He belonged to the Methodist Church. He was married to Mabel LINGO on December 30, 1903 at Norwich, Ia. They came to Goshen county in 1928 and settled on a farm north of Torrington.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. from the Methodist Church. Rev. Homer C. CRISMAN will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
Mr. GAMBLE is survivied by his wife, Mabel at home; a son, Lowell of Torrington; a daughter, Mrs. Martha BORDERS of Compton, Calif.; a brother, G. W. GAMBLE of Torrington; a sister, Mrs. Flora SMILEY of Omaha, Neb.; and three grandchildren. A daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death."
