Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Karl Wesley Stevens Sr., founder of Stevens and King Roofing Corp. She was a member of Foundry United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Chesopeian Colony Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen S. Duncan and her husband, Donald G. Duncan, of Virginia Beach, and Carol F. Higgins and her husband, Charles E. Higgins, of Chesapeake; a son, Karl W. Stevens Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Stevens, of Chesapeake; three brothers, John Crumpler and Vernon Crumpler, both of Norfolk, and Frank ``Bud'' Crumpler of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren, Robert Peterson Jr., Steven Peterson, Susan Griffin, Linda Bower, John Peterson, Todd W. Stevens, Jill S. Agnes, Melissa Stevens, Christopher Stewart, Kimberly Roberts, Michael Higgins, David Higgins, Brian Higgins and Jason Higgins; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Muriel S. Peterson.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
