Mrs. Eva Naiman of Gilead, passed away at the home of a son in Gilead, Monday, December 19, 1949, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 27 days. She had suffered a heart attack that same morning.
Eva Diener, daughter of John and Ida Diener, was born February 22, 1872, in State Center, Iowa. While still a child she with her parents, came to Nebraska and located in Gilead, where she has always made her home. She was baptized in infancy and on April 10, 1887, she was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church, Gladstone Nebraska.
On June 6, 1885, she married Henry Naiman and to them were born nine children, four sons and five daughters. Her husband preceded her in death October 16, 1943. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her nine children, Herman of Los Angeles, Calif., William of Gilead, Nebr.; Linda, Mrs. Herman Egbarts of Herbron (sic); Lawrence of Custer, South Dakota; Odelia of Lincoln, Nebr., Solome (sic), Mrs. Clarence Renken, of Lincoln, Nebr.; Leslie of Gilead; Eveline, Mrs. William Willems of Gilead, and Ruby, Mrs. Leo Fry of Fairbury; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Henry Menssen of Gladstone, Mrs. M. J. Harms of Chester, Mrs. John Itzen, Miss Augusta Diener and Miss Nora Diener, all of Gilead, and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church in Gilead with Rev. Martin Hofman, officiating. Burial was made at the Lutheran cemetery, west of Gladstone. Nuckolls service.
