William J. Ziegler, 430 East Cranberry avenue, died early this morning at the State Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in this city, March 24, 1888, he was the son of the late Balser and Sabenna Kellmer Ziegler. He was a member of St. John's Primitive Methodist Church. Until his death he was constable of the Third ward. He was employed until the time of his illness as a pump runner for the Hazleton Shaft Colliery. He was a former chief of the East End Fire Co., a member of the Six-County Firemen's Association, the American Legion, Disabled Veterans Association and the Junior Order of Mechanics. He was a veteran of World War I.

His wife, the former Catherine Brandau died in 1952. Surviving are these children, Mrs. Dorothy McCabe, Phillipine Islands; Wesley J., Conyngham; and William V. Otter, Camp Hill. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eva Barron, Coaldale; Mrs. Norman McNeal and Mrs. Hannah Heltzer, this city; a brother, Theodore, this city; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. Richard E. Owens will conduct the services and interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Friends may call at the home on Friday afternoon and evening.
