Mr. Allison was born in 1948 in The Plains to the late Helen M. Hubbard and Richard V. Allison. He was stepson of Robert Oxley, of Arlington.
He served the Air Force during four terms in Vietnam as a technical sergeant. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.
Survivors also include his wife, Ann Southers Allison; a stepdaughter, Lacey Burnett of Boston; two stepsons, James Burnett of Winchester and Jeff Lowery of Pensacola, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Allison was buried in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
