Funeral services for Ewell John Langston will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday October 8, 2011 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend George Marshall and Reverend Matthew McCann officiating. Burial will be in Woodworth Cemetery, Woodworth, Louisiana.

Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Friday October 7, 2011 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Langston, 86, of Woodworth, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 6, 2011in the Patriot's Path at the VA Medical Center.

Mr. Langston was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodworth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who entered service at the age of 18. During World War II he proudly served as a Navy Gunner Assistant. He later retired as a sheet metal worker. Mr. Langston is proudly remembered as a man who would never shy away from work, and who loved history and nature. There was no place he would rather be than working in the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Sephronia Smith Langston; brothers, Earl, Eugene, Elmer and Ennis Langston; sisters, Inez Weage and Mary Gassiott; grandchildren, Marcus Langston and Jacob (Jake) Langston.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Emma Lou Gibbons Langston of Woodworth; sons, Charles Langston and wife, Patsy of Woodworth, John Langston and wife, Lillian of Forest Hill, Roger Langston and wife, Sara of Woodworth and Danny Langston of San Diego, California; daughters, Pat Cole of Pineville, Linda Langston of Woodworth and Sheila Jeukens and husband, Mike of Pearl, Mississippi; sister, Dorothy Marshall of Woodworth; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will include Chuck Langston, Kevyn Cole, Kourtney Cole, Jason Langston, Jeff Langston and David Jeukens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Delaney, Jared Shelton and Jason Bedgood.
