Visitation:5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Monday.
Services for Mr. Eugene T. Langston will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2008, at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend Wayne Hedrick officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Gardner, Louisiana.
Mr. Langston, 90, of Woodworth, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, in Matthews Memorial Nursing Home.
He was a member of Gardner Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He served in the U. S. Army, 101st Airborn, 907th, Glider Field Artillery, Battalion B, during WWII where he glided behind enemy lines on D-Day at Normandy. He also served at Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland and central Europe campaigns. He formerly hauled timber and operated a saw mill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula W. Langston; parents, Charlie E. and Sefronie Samantha Smith Langston; son, Billy Gene Langston; brothers, Earl Langston, Ennis Langston; sisters, Mary Gassiott, Inez Weage.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Ewell Langston of Woodworth, Elmer Langston of Pollock; sister, Dorothy Marshall of Woodworth; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
