Raymond Harold White passed away October 6, 2011 at the age of 81 following a brief but hard fought battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at Colonial Church on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. with H. Dustin Fillmore, III presenting the gospel message. A family burial at Crestview Memorial Park will follow under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Harold was the third child born to Ralph Clarence White and Lucy Catherine (McCartney) White on May 11, 1930 in Orr, OK in the midst of The Great Depression. During his childhood, his family worked in farming to earn a living during this most challenging time.

Harold married the love of his life, Kathyleen Hope Hammons, on October 7, 1949. This officially began a love affair which lasted 62 years. Harold and Kathyleen were blessed by four children.

Harold represented the people of Wichita County as Precinct 4 Commissioner from 1990-1998. He was instrumental in the development of MPEC, while serving on MPEC's board of directors for several years. He spearheaded the acquisition of the Sprague Electric property by the County, which has been used as a much needed source for additional jail facilities and other uses. During his years as Commissioner, he was a staunch advocate for the welfare of all county employees.
Prior to serving as an elected county official, he worked as an iron worker and later business manager for the International Association of Bridge Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers Local Union 592 then based in Wichita Falls, TX and serving North Texas and Southwestern Oklahoma. He also served as vice president of the Texas AFL-CIO and president of the Texas Building and Construction Trades Council. He actively participated in numerous issues under consideration by the Texas State Legislature. Harold was a lifetime Democrat and worked closely with state and national leaders from Texas in political matters.

Harold's involvement in the community included serving on the board of directors of the Wichita-Wilbarger 911 District and the Wichita Falls Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Harold's focus in life was his relationship with family and his Lord Jesus Christ. He truly walked the walk and was an example to those around him. The White family was long time members of Westside Baptist Church, where Harold served as a member of the deacon body for many years. He also served as a member of the executive committee of the Wichita Archer Clay Baptist Association. A daily Bible study and devotional time was a hallmark in his life. Harold was a 32nd degree Mason.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathyleen; four children, Domonie White Lane and husband Raymond of Lipan, TX, Beverly White Park and husband Donnie of Burkburnett, TX, Harold White, Jr. and fiancé Lisa Lane and Mona White McCleskey and husband Ron all of Wichita Falls, TX.; eight grandchildren, Mason McCleskey, Morgan McCleskey, Weston White and wife Valerie, Amelia White Barber and husband Brooks, Misty Park, Richard "Scooter" Park and wife Lisa, Justin Lane and wife Misty and Matthew Lane and wife Texie; and eight great grandchildren.
The White family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Raymond L. Owen and the staff of Hospice of Wichita Falls for their love and care during this most difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
