Alone at the close of a Summer's day
Thy soul was freed from its fettered clay,
The veil was lifted, the mists rolled away.
The darkened night changed to endless day.

And thy wearied form, now free from pain,
Heard angels chanting a sweet refrain;
And thy soul soared through that vast unknown,
Anchored safe in God's harbor, "Home, Sweet Home"
