Morgan Vardeman, born Dec. 16, 1767, in Bedford County, VA or after the family arrived to the settlements on the New River of Wythe County, VA. Morgan was about 13 years old when the family moved into the frontier of Kentucky. He married Mary Trousdale and lives as a farmer and distiller of fine whiskey on Cedar Creek, apparently having purchased his father's lands. The mid 18th Century historian, Lyman Draper, interviewed Morgan Vardeman regarding his family's history and events of frontier Crab Orchard. Morgan died July 30, 1847 and is buried with his wife and son Christopher in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
