Daughter of S. Bowen...Aged 12 came to Silverton, OR with her parents (lived 2 years); 1876 moved to Columbia County, WA and settled on Eckler Mountain..."passed away at the Brining Hopsital..where she had been undergoing treatment during the past five weeks for tumors of the breast. She submitted to an operation last June, from which she semed to recover, but in the early fall teh malady reappeared. Not wishing to attempt another operation, Mrs. Peabody decided to try the autolysin treatment, which proved to be of no avail in her case. At no time did she suffer great physical pain, and when the end came it was peaceful."...Obit Columbia Chronicle, Dayton WA, 26 Feb 1916, Page 2.
