He died Friday at Lodi Memorial Hospital of cardiac arrest following a long illness.
Born in Byron, he lived there most of his life until 1988, when he moved to Lodi.
After graduating High School, he worked as a druggist in Brentwood and then for John's Manville Corp, as an office clerk. He was later a farmer.
He was a member of the Byron Chambers of Commerce and the East Con Contra Costa Historical Society.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo McMahon of San Francisco; two sisters Della Clark of Pleasant Hill and Doris Shera of Lodi; a brother Donner J Wilder of Lodi; and four grandchildren.
