Richard M. Garrard, 87, Burley, died Wednesday morning in Cassia Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born January 18, 1886 in North Ogden, Utah. He married Clodella Hill January 18, 1911 in Tooele, Utah.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the LDS Church. He lived in Cassia County since 1914 and in Burley for the past 27 years.
Surviving are his wife, Burley; two sons, Melvin H. Garrard, Burley; and Willard W. Garrard, Twin Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Matthews, Jerome; Mrs. Floyd (Luella) Judd, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. James (Verda) Philbin, Twin Falls, and Mrs. James (June) Mecham, Bliss; four half-sisters, Mrs. Iva Yates, Kearns, Utah; Mrs. Nellie Yates, Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. Nettie Davis and Mrs. Eliza Davis, Lake Point, Utah. 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday in the Seventh Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Walter R. Petersen officiating.
Burial will be in Gem Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the McCullough Funeral Home Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday prior to services.
