She and Joseph had 4 children:

William Harvel Maxwell (1909-1972)
Gladys Maxwell (1914-1922)
Joseph Theron Maxwell (1917-2006)

Joseph died on 26 January 1929 in Salt Lake City. Mamie married Milton Homer Whitaker eight years later on 30 June 1937. No children were added to this union.
