June 26, 1941, Bulletin Journal, Thursday: "Reubon W. Boody. Funeral services for Reubon W. Boody, 70, were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Swan funeral home. Rev. H. H. Dill, pastor of the Methodist church officiated. Interment was made at Iowa Falls. Mr. Boody was born in Hardin county, August 20, 1870, the son of Charles and Sarah Boody where he was raised to manhood. He engaged in farming until about eight years ago, when he came to Independence. He was preceded in death about a year ago by his wife. Mr. Boody was ill but a short time and passed away at the People's hospital Saturday, June 21, where he had been taken a few days previously. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bess Marks, Eldora, a step-daughter, Mrs. Nellie Race Tygart, Osceola, and adopted daughter, Mrs. Viola Reed Parsons, Independence; two brothers, Fred Boody, Independence, and Otis Boody, Eldora; and a sister, Mrs. Tinnie Wheatland, of South Dakota."
