Elijia (Pop) Goin

CLINTON - (PNS) - Elijia (Pop) Voltier Goin, 71, a custodian in the Clinton Community Unit School District for 26 years prior to his retirement, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at his home at Tabor.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Herington Funeral Home, with the Rev. L. C. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born June 5, 1886 at Hamilton, Ill., a son of Henry W. and Anna Kelly Goin. He married Lillie Allen at Hamilton, Sept. 2, 1906.

Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Rena Griner, Miss Ruby Goin, Chicago; Mrs. Doris Goodall, Camdenton, Mo.; Miss Marguarite, at home; Mrs. Mary Jane Niemann, Bloomington; a son, Harold, Tucumcari, New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Allen, McLeansboro; Mrs. Mary Rosenkranz, East St. Louis, Ill.; two brothers, James, Akron, Ohio; Harry, Gibson City; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church.
