Milroy Dies; Rites

Mrs. Grace Terhune Hood, 85, of Milroy, a lifelong resident of Anderson and Richland Townships, died suddenly at 11:05 p.m. Friday in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis where she was transferred earlier in the week from Rush Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Richland Township on December 25, 1881, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Kerr Terhune, and was married in 1903 to Jacob C. Hood, who survives. Mrs. Hood attended Marion Normal College.
A resident of Milroy for many years, Mrs. Hood was an active member of the Milroy Methodist Church. She also was a charter member of W. S. C. S. and a 50-year member of the Dorcas Band of the Church.
Surviving with the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Florine) Higgins of Milroy; three sons, Willard C. Hood of Connersville, Lowell T. Hood of Milroy and John Hood of St. Petersburg, Fla., a sister, Miss Emma Terhune of Milroy, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Six sisters, two brothers and an infant son preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Murphy and Burns Funeral Home in Milroy, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday with burial in the Milroy Cemetery.
