Ira Smith
Ira Smith, 75 years old Silas resident, died at Rush Memorial Hospital, Meridian, Miss., at 3 a. m. Monday morning, February 20.
Services were held Tuesday morning at 11 a. m. from Montrose Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ramsey and Herman Sollie officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lula Smith, Silas; five sons, Dewey, Vicksburg; Willie C., Lexington, N. C.; Otis J., Warrenville, S. V. (sic); Ira W., Prichard, and Sidney Smith, Silas; four sisters, Mesdames Mary Bales, Meridian; M. Roberts, Quitman; Emma Campbell, Laurel; Sudie Griffin, Quitman; two brothers, Elgie, Quitman and Willie Smith, Laurel; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
