Gladys Brown-Cranford was born March 21, 1917 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Tom and Minnie (Hamilton) Brown. She passed from this life September 29, 2011 in Sherman, Texas, at the age of 94. Gladys married Arvell Cranford January 7, 1936 in Antlers, Oklahoma. Thery were married for 54 years until his passing. She never met a stranger. Gladys loved life and always had a smile and sweet comment to everyone she came in contact with. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Gladys was a member of Forrest Avenue Baptist Church of Sherman, Texas. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband: James Arvell Cranford; parents: Tom & Minnie Brown; two daughters: Martha Carol Cranford and Loy Mac Beech. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM ~ Monday, October 3, 2011 ~ Mills & Coffey Chapel. Officiating: Pastor Jimmy Heath. Music: "It Is Well With My Soul" ~ "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" ~ "How Great Thou Art" ~ "When We All Get to Heaven". Pallbearers: Lucky Thompson ~ Tony Williams ~ Lee Mertins ~ Jared Thompson ~ Matthew Thompson ~ Ian Williams. Honorary Pallbearers: Bob Beech ~ Melvin Williams ~ Orville Mertins.
