Dan Brown was born May 17, 1922 in Tenkiller, Oklahoma to Tom and Minnie (Hamilton) Brown. He passed from this life August 29, 2010 in McAlester, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Dan served his country in the US Army during World War II. He married Nadine Standridge on December 24, 1945 in Paris, Texas & together they had eight children. They were married for 63 years before her passing in 2008. Dan was a member of Finley Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing Moon, cards, fishing, and his horse, Blaze. Dan was preceded in death by his wife: Nadine Brown; a son: Donald Ray Brown; two daughters: Dora Mae Brown and Marcia Ann Brown; parents: Tom and Minnie Hamilton Brown; brothers: Sam, Arvelle, & T. J. Brown; sisters: Mary, Thelma, & Lola Mae. He is survived by his children: Melinda Dillishaw of McAlester, Oklahoma, Malvin Brown of Hobbs, New Mexico, Vickie Brown of Tucumcari, New Mexico, John T. Brown of Jackson, Mississippi, & Saundra Morehead of Finley, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Julie Young, Meredith Head, Taylor Morehead, Dustin Morehead, Toni Brown, & Danielle Brown; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Gladys Cranford of Sherman, Texas and Loy Painter of Oklahoma; as well as many other relatives and friends. Graveside Service: 10:00 AM ~ Thursday, September 2, 2010 ~ Finley Cemetery. Officiating: Reverend Andy Reed. Music: "Faded Love" ~ "I Can Only Imagine" ~ "I'll Fly Away". Interment: Finley Cemetery ~ Finley, Oklahoma.
