Helen I. McLaren, 87, of 184 Bandy Ave. died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg.

Born Nov. 1, 1915, in Paloma to John Harvey Sr. and Lillian Edna Noll McCune, she married John R. McLaren on May 2, 1936, in Galesburg. He died Jan. 9, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, H. Christine Hamilton of Galesburg; two brothers, John Jr. (and Tina) McCune of Rancho Cordova, Calif., and W. Thomas (and Nancy) McCune of Galesburg; and three sisters, Ruth (and Harold) Martin of Phoenix, Ariz., Edith (and Ralph ''Bud'') Ecklund of Galesburg and Dorothy Rodgers of Watsonville, Calif.

She worked for Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corp. for 25 years, working 10 years as an assembler and 15 years in the pre-packing parts depot. She retired in 1977.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
