GALESBURG -- Norma L. Arnold, 70, of 556 Burgland St. died at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Born Aug. 3, 1927, in Knoxville to John H. and L. Edna Noll McCune, she married Steward L. Arnold on Dec. 22, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Steward of Knoxville, Iowa; two daughters, Patricia Powers of Galesburg and Lynn McLaughlin of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, John McCune of California and W. Thomas McCune Sr. of Galesburg; six sisters, Helen McLaren and Edith Ecklund, both of Galesburg; Luella Bowman of Yates City, Ruth Martin of Phoenix, Dorothy Rodgers of California and Bartie McCune of Abingdon; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Peterson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
