Larcenia Bruce Broxton, affectionately known as "Mother Dear," passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011, after 86 years of a wonderful life here on earth.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11a at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, 1902 W LaSalle Street, with Reverend Gregory Gay officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tampa, FL.
Larcenia was born on April 22, 1925, to the late Joe and Ellen Bruce in Tallahassee, FL. She was a resident of Ft. Pierce, FL for 53 years and a long-time member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Larcenia attended and graduated from public schools of Leon County. She received her Associate of Arts Degree from Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, FL, and her Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Larcenia was a cosmetologist and business owner for over 30 years as well as a retired educator of the St. Lucie County School District, Ft. Pierce, FL.
