The deceased, in company with several other men was helping to lift a large and heavy fly wheel using a crow bar and in some manner the wheel slipped on one end of the crow bar causing the other end to fly up violently, striking him on the head and neck. His neck was broken by the blow and he was almost instantly killed. He was about 23 years of age, of steady habits and well spoken of. Deceased leaves a wife an one child, a little boy about one year old. He formerly was employed as brakeman on the Rock Island Road and lived at Stuart.
