Mr. Norman David Burrier, 85, of Rocky Ridge, MD, died on Sunday, December 28th, 2008 at Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, PA. Norman was the husband of Anna Clem Burrier, whom he married on July 8th, 1948.

Mr. Burrier was born on January 11th, 1923 in Hansonville, MD to the late Clarence and Edna Houck Burrier.

Surviving beside his wife is one daughter, Connie Burrier of Thurmont, one son, Barry Burrier and wife Debbie of Rocky Ridge. Norman also had three grandchildren, Patrick Weagley, Deane Weagley and Laurie Burrier, two
brothers, Calvin Burrier and wife Shirley of Thurmont, Sterling Burrier and wife Sylvia of Johnsville, one sister, Louise Grabil and husband William of Johnsville, one sister-in-law, Helen Burrier of Detour, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Burrier was preceded in death by one brother Paul Burrier.

Norman was a graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School in Union Bridge. He was proud of his time served in the military with the United States Army during WW II in the European Theater of Operations. Norman was employed with Moore Busines Forms in Thurmont for over 30 years and retired in 1985. Norman loved fishing, camping, gardening, Florida vacation trips and he loved to ham as a licensed Amateur Radio Operator ( K3UHY ) . Most of all Norman treasured the time he spent with his family.

Mr. Burrier was a member of the Thurmont AMVETS, Emmitsburg VFW, Edwin C. Creager American Legion Post 168 , Thurmont , Amateur Rely League, Frederick County Civil Defense and Frederick County Amateur Radio Club.

Services: There is no viewing or calling at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
