Ella Mae Luke Rites Friday In Edina
Ella Mae Luke, 83, of Edina died Thursday afternoon at 5:55 in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina where she had been a patient since February 1972. She had been in failing health for sometime.
Born Feb. 17, 1889 in Knox county, she was the daughter of Francis Theodore and Lorena Jane Evertson Green. On Dec. 16, 1906 in Edina she was married to Elmer Guy Luke who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1956. Also preceding her in death were one son, Charles Luke on Oct. 11, 1956; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Dona Taylor, Elva Falk and Opal Stultz and three brothers, Vessie Green, George Green and John Green on Sept. 22.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Thelma) Alber of Edina, Mrs. Lorraine (Naomi) Baker of Burlington, Ia. and Mrs. F. E. (Betty Jo) Robinson of Jefferson City; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Leta) Ross of El Reno, Oklahoma, Mrs. A. E. (Minnie) Smith of Laverne, Calif. and Mrs. Mike (Carmen) Dini of Chula Vista, Calif.
Mrs. Luke was a member of the Knox City Christian Church.
She resided on a farm southeast of Edina until 1947 when she moved to Edina.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Rev. David C. Goodwin of Edina will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Linville cemetery in Edina.
Bearers will be her grandsons Leon Alber, Charles Alber, Harold Baker, Richard Baker, Larry Baker and Lyman Baker.
