Grandma was amazing. I loved to watch her cook; she made all her noodles by hand! Her chicken soup with kreplach was fabulous and could cure anything. :-)

She loved having us visit in Brooklyn. They always lived in walk-up apartments that were small but really all they needed. I remember the baby grand piano in the living room of one of the places they lived. My mom and my aunts all took lessons. Somehow that piano made it from Brooklyn to our house in Springdale and I learned to play on it too.

When Grandma was sick and dying, she came to our house so mom (her oldest daughter) could take care of her. She wanted to see me but for some reason I was afraid to go into her room. I will regret that forever. She went to the hospital where I was a Candy Striper. I remember going to her room to visit and the bed was empty. I asked one of the nurses where she was and she told me Grandma had died. I went right home and found Grandpa there, looking totally lost.
