He was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Chicago, to Joseph and Josephine Bottino.
On June 10, 1944, he married Louise Schelb in Chicago.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
Survivors include his children, Sandy Burger of McHenry and Sis Kloepfer of McHenry; five grandchildren, April (Bob) Carey, Steve Kloepfer, Wendy Reiter, Barry Kloepfer and Dave Kloepfer; six great-grandchildren, Adam Carey, Trevor Carey, Angel (Glen) Schultz, Jarid Reiter, Colton Reiter and Jake Care; a great-great-grandson, Glen Schultz; his brother, Louie Bottino; and three sisters, Agnes Camprise, Connie (Charlie) Doran and Josie (Iggy) Fricano.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on Nov. 7, 1994; a son, Barry Bottino; a great-grandson, Frank Carey; a brother, Jack; three sisters, Toni, Rosie and Mary; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bottino; and a brother-in-law, Jack Camprise.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in McHenry.
Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
